UPDATE ON THE BIFURCATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND HUMAN CONCERNS (HLU-3(17))
Description
At the 2022 General Election, the voters of the County of Maui approved Charter Amendment Proposal 1 to divide the Department of Housing and Human Concerns into two departments, effective July 1, 2024. Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to receive updates and discuss matters relating to the upcoming bifurcation of the Department of Housing and Human Concerns into the Department of Housing and Department of Human Concerns.
Status
The Committee may receive presentations from the Department of Management and the Department of Housing and Human Concerns relating to the bifurcation of the Department of Housing and Human Concerns. The Committee may discuss other related matters. No legislative action will be taken.
