Title

BILL 40 (2024), AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET:  REVENUES, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE (COUNTYWIDE COSTS, SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSFER TO THE SOLID WASTE FUND); CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT (COUNTYWIDE, SANITATION); AND APPENDIX C, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT (COUNTYWIDE, LĀHAINĀ WILDFIRE DISPOSAL SITES)  (BFED-87)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 40 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, REVENUES; DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, COUNTYWIDE COSTS, SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSFER TO THE SOLID WASTE FUND; CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, COUNTYWIDE, SANITATION; AND APPENDIX C, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, COUNTYWIDE.”  Bill 40’s purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget by 1) amending Section 2, Estimated Revenues, by increasing Carryover/Savings from the General Fund by $7,304,000 and Interfund Transfers by $7,304,000; 2) amending Section 3.B.5.g.(6), Department of Finance, Countywide Costs, Supplemental Transfer to the Solid Waste Fund, by increasing Category B (Operations and Equipment) and Total appropriations by $7,304,000; 3) amending Section 4.A.1.a.(1), Department of Environmental Management, Countywide, Sanitation, by adding a new appropriation for Solid Waste Management Fund entitled “Lāhainā Wildfire Disposal Sites” in the amount of $7,304,000; 4) adjusting the totals accordingly; and 5) amending Appendix C - Capital Improvement Projects, Department of Environmental Management, Countywide, by adding a new project and project description entitled “Lāhainā Wildfire Disposal Sites” in the amount of $7,304,000.

2.                     A Certification of Additional Revenues for Fiscal Year 2024, dated 02/09/2024, for $7,304,000 in Carryover/Savings from the General Fund.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 40 (2024) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 40 (2024) and other related action.
