AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET: DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION (WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER BASKETBALL COURT IMPROVEMENTS, WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER EXPANSION) (BF-34)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 17-95, from the Budget Director, transmitting the following:
1. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS; DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, WAILUKU-KAHULUI COMMUNITY PLAN AREA, PARKS AND RECREATION, WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER BASKETBALL COURT IMPROVEMENTS, WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER EXPANSION.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget by 1) deleting an appropriation of $500,000 under the Department of Parks and Recreation, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, Parks and Recreation, Bond Fund, for the Waikapu Community Center Basketball Court Improvements project; and 2) increasing the appropriation for the Waikapu Community Center Expansion project by $500,000.
2. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX C - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, WAILUKU-KAHULUI COMMUNITY PLAN AREA, WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER BASKETBALL COURT IMPROVEMENTS, WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER EXPANSION.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget, Appendix C, Capital Improvement Projects, by 1) deleting an appropriation of $500,000 under the Department of Parks and Recreation, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, for the Waikapu Community Center Basketball Court Improvements project; and 2) increasing an appropriation of $500,000 for the Waikapu Community Center Expansion project.
3. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4331, BILL NO. 59 (2016), RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI (WAIKAPU COMMUNITY CENTER EXPANSION).” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2017 general obligation bond authorization ordinance by 1) deleting an appropriation of $500,000 under the Department of Parks and Recreation, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, for the Waikapu Community Center Basketball Court Improvements project; and 2) increasing an appropriation of $500,000 for the Waikapu Community Center Expansion project.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bills on first reading, with or without further revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 17-95 and other related action.
