RESOLUTION 26-133, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: HAWAI‘I LABOR RELATIONS BOARD CASES 26-CE-11-997 AND 26-CU-11-417 RELATING TO HAWAII FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO  (GREAT-11(35))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of Resolution 26-133, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF HAWAII FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO V. JOSH GREEN, ET AL.; HAWAI‘I LABOR RELATIONS BOARD CASE 26-CE-11-997 AND JOSH GREEN, ET. AL. V. HAWAII FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO; HAWAI‘I LABOR RELATIONS BOARD CASE 26-CU-11-417.”  Resolution 26-133’s purpose is to approve settlement of: 1) Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO v. Josh Green, et al., Hawai‘i Labor Relations Board Case 26-CE-11-997, filed on April 10, 2026; and 2) Josh Green, et al. v. Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO, Hawai‘i Labor Relations Board Case 26-CU-11-417, filed on May 18, 2026.  The complaints allege prohibited practices within the meaning of Section 89-13, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, arising from an interest arbitration proceeding that resulted in an Interest Arbitration Award dated March 26, 2026.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 26-133, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-133 and other related action.

 

Note

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated in accordance with Section 92-5(a)(3), Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, to deliberate concerning the authority of persons designated by the County, the Council, or the Committee to conduct labor negotiations or to negotiate the acquisition of public property, or during the conduct of such negotiations; Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee; and Section 92-5(a)(8), Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, to deliberate or make a decision upon a matter that requires the consideration of information that must be kept confidential pursuant to a State or Federal law, or a court order.
