NOMINATIONS TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS (COST OF GOVERNMENT COMMISSION, HANA ADVISORY COMMITTEE, MAUI COUNTY COMMISSION ON PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES)  (PEA-2(2))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of:

1.                     Correspondence dated February 27, 2017, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF SHARRON COURTER TO THE COST OF GOVERNMENT COMMISSION,” along with a completed application for the nominee.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve or disapprove the Council’s nomination of Sharron Courter to the Cost of Government Commission for a term expiring March 31, 2018.

2.                     Correspondence dated February 24, 2017, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting the following:

a.                     A proposed resolution entitled “RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF MAYA ROSS TO THE HANA ADVISORY COMMITTEE,” along with a completed application for the nominee.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve or disapprove the Council’s nomination of Maya Ross to the Hana Advisory Committee for a term beginning April 1, 2017 and expiring March 31, 2022.

b.                     A proposed resolution entitled “RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF DAVID KAINA TO THE HANA ADVISORY COMMITTEE,” along with a completed application for the nominee.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve or disapprove the Council’s nomination of David Kaina to the Hana Advisory Committee for a term beginning April 1, 2017 and expiring March 31, 2022.

c.                     A proposed resolution entitled “RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF RICKY SANCHES TO THE MAUI COUNTY COMMISSION ON PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES,” along with a completed application for the nominee.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve or disapprove the Council’s nomination of Ricky Sanches (Lanai) to the Maui County Commission on Persons with Disabilities for a term beginning April 1, 2017 and expiring March 31, 2022.

 

Status

The Council must approve or disapprove the nomination to the Cost of Government Commission by April 18, 2017, and the nominations to the Hana Advisory Committee and Maui County Commission on Persons with Disabilities by April 1, 2017, or the nominations will be deemed approved.  The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolutions, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider other related action.
