Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 99 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.56, MAUI COUNTY CODE, TO ESTABLISH PROHIBITIONS CONCERNING NEPOTISM.” Bill 99’s purpose is to ensure that hiring, supervision, and employment decisions within the County are based on merit, qualifications, ability, and equal opportunity, rather than family relationships or favoritism.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 99 (2026) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 99 (2026) and other related action.
