AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF HAWAII AS SPECIAL COUNSEL, TO PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES TO QUALIFIED RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI  (HCP-43)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 21-387, from the Director of Housing and Human Concerns, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF HAWAII TO PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES TO QUALIFIED RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI.”  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to request authorization to contract with Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, using Federal Title III funds, to provide legal services, in accordance with Section 3-6(6) of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend the adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without further revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 21-387 and other related action.
