RESOLUTION 23-227, RELATING TO SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION:  CHRISTOPHER SALEM V. COUNTY OF MAUI, ET AL.; CIVIL 2CCV-21-0000048(2) (GREAT-11(32))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Resolution 23-227, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF CHRISTOPHER SALEM VS. COUNTY OF MAUI, ET AL., CIVIL NO. 2CCV-21-0000048(2).”  Resolution 23-227’s purpose is to authorize settlement of the claim, filed on February 18, 2021.  The claim alleges breach of contract, tortious injury, unlawful termination, and seeks special, general, and punitive damages.

2.                     Correspondence dated November 13, 2023, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, with a copy of the claim.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 23-227, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 23-227 and other related action.
