Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 125 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, HAWAII EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE GRANTS RELATING TO THE AUGUST, 2023 WILDFIRES DISASTER.” Bill 125’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Hawaii, Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, for federal funds for eligible scopes of work and associated funding to aid in the recovery of the August 2023 wildfire disaster.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 125 (2023) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider whether to recommend the filing of Bill 125 (2023) and other related action.
