BILL 132 (2025), AMENDING ORDINANCE 3889 (2011), RELATING TO CHANGE IN ZONING (CONDITIONAL ZONING) FOR WEST MAUI PROJECT DISTRICT 5 (PULELEHUA) FOR PROPERTY SITUATED AT LAHAINA, HAWAI‘I  (DRIP-17)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 132 (2025), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 3889 (2011), RELATING TO THE CHANGE IN ZONING (CONDITIONAL ZONING) FOR WEST MAUI PROJECT DISTRICT 5 (PULELEHUA) FOR PROPERTY SITUATED AT MAHINAHINA, KAHANA, LAHAINA, MAUI, HAWAI‘I.”  Bill 132’s purpose is to amend Condition 2 in Ordinance 3889 (2011), the Change in Zoning for West Maui Project District 5 (Pulelehua), for real property identified as Tax Map Keys (2) 4-3-001:082 and (2) 4-3-001:083, collectively comprising 304.255 acres, situated in Māhinahina, Kahana, Lahaina, Hawai‘i.

2.                     An Amendment Summary Form, dated October 30, 2025, from the Committee Chair, with a proposed CD1 version of Bill 132 (2025), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 3889 (2011), RELATING TO THE CHANGE IN ZONING (CONDITIONAL ZONING) FOR WEST MAUI PROJECT DISTRICT 5 (PULELEHUA) FOR PROPERTY SITUATED AT LAHAINA, HAWAI‘I.”  The proposed CD1 version:

a.                     Amends the bill’s title.

b.                     Incorporates nonsubstantive and technical revisions for clarity, consistency, and style.

c.                     Is approved as to form and legality by the Department of the Corporation Counsel.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 132 (2025) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 132 (2025) and other related action.
