RESOLUTION 25-21, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 1.811 ACRES IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-3-005-004 SITUATED AT ŌMAʻOPIO, KULA, MAKAWAO, MAUI, HAWAIʻI, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $451,561.00
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Resolution 25-21, entitled “AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 1.811 ACRES IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY NO. (2) 2-3-005-004 SITUATED AT OMAOPIO, KULA, MAKAWAO, MAUI, HAWAII, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $451,561.00.” Resolution 25-21’s purpose is to: 1) authorize the acquisition of real property in Ōma‘opio, Kula, Makawao, Maui, Hawai‘i, comprising 1.811 acres, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map key (2) 2-3-005:004, for $451,561; and 2) accept the dedication of a waterline easement and an access easement across the property.
2. An Amendment Summary Form, dated February 19, 2025, from the Committee Chair, with a proposed CD1 version of Resolution 25-21, entitled “AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF 1.811 ACRES OF REAL PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS A PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-3-005:004; A WATERLINE EASEMENT ACROSS TAX MAP KEYS (2) 2-3-004:016, (2) 2-3-004:020, AND (2) 2-3-005:004; AND AN ACCESS EASEMENT ACROSS TAX MAP KEYS (2) 2-3-004:016 AND (2) 2-3-005:004, ʻŌMAʻOPIO, KULA, MAKAWAO, MAUI, HAWAIʻI, FOR $451,561.” The proposed CD1 version: 1) amends the resolution’s title; 2) clarifies the parcels affected by the waterline and access easements and the size of each easement; 3) confirms the appraised value of the easements at $1,561 and the appraised value of the 1.811-acre portion of tax map key (2) 2-3-005:004 at $450,000; and 4) incorporates nonsubstantive and technical revisions for clarity, consistency, and style.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 25-21, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 25-21 and other related action.
