BILL 80 (2023), RELATING TO GRANTING CAROLEE HIGASHINO A CONDITIONAL PERMIT TO OPERATE SMALL SCALE SPECIAL EVENTS WITHIN THE COUNTY R-3 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT (HLU-18)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 80 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE GRANTING CAROLEE HIGASHINO A CONDITIONAL PERMIT TO CONDUCT SMALL SCALE SPECIAL EVENTS WITHIN THE COUNTY R-3 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, TAX MAP KEY NUMBER (2) 2-1-006:011, MAKENA, MAUI, HAWAII.” Bill 80’s purpose is to allow Carolee Higashino to conduct small scale special events within the County R-3 Residential District at 7000 Makena Road, Kīhei, Hawaiʻi.
2. Correspondence dated August 9, 2023, from the Planning Director, transmitting the application summary, including the Maui Planning Commission’s recommendations and June 14, 2022, meeting minutes.
3. Correspondence dated October 30, 2023, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a proposed CD1 version of Bill 80 (2023), approved as to form and legality, entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE GRANTING CAROLEE HIGASHINO A CONDITIONAL PERMIT TO CONDUCT SMALL SCALE SPECIAL EVENTS WITHIN THE COUNTY R-3 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT, TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-1-006:011, MAKENA, MAUI, HAWAII.” The proposed CD1 version of Bill 80 incorporates nonsubstantive revisions.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed CD1 version of Bill 80 (2023) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 80 (2023) and other related action.
