BILL 70 (2023), TRANSFER OF A CONDITIONAL PERMIT FOR THE OLD WAILUKU INN AT ULUPONO AT 2199 KAHOʻOKELE STREET, WAILUKU (HLU-15)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 70 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3545, BILL NO. 29 (2008) TO TRANSFER A CONDITIONAL PERMIT TO JOSHUA RAMU TREMBLAY FOR THE OLD WAILUKU INN TRANSIENT VACATION RENTAL SITUATED AT 2199 KAHOʻOKELE STREET, WAILUKU, HAWAII.” Bill 70’s purpose is to allow an existing Conditional Permit held by Janice Fairbanks and Thomas N. Fairbanks III to be transferred to Joshua Ramu Tremblay.
2. Correspondence dated July 18, 2023, from the Planning Director, transmitting the application summary, including the Maui Planning Commission’s recommendation and April 25, 2023, meeting minutes.
3. Correspondence dated October 19, 2023, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a proposed CD1 version of Bill 70 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 3545 TO TRANSFER A CONDITIONAL PERMIT TO JOSHUA RAMU TREMBLAY FOR THE OLD WAILUKU INN AT ULUPONO TRANSIENT VACATION RENTAL SITUATED AT 2199 KAHO‘OKELE STREET, WAILUKU, MAUI, HAWAII,” approved as to form and legality. The purpose of the proposed CD1 version of Bill 70 (2023) is to allow an existing Conditional Permit held by Janice Fairbanks and Thomas N. Fairbanks III to be transferred to Joshua Ramu Tremblay.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed CD1 version of Bill 70 (2023) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 70 (2023) and other related action.
