RESOLUTION 26-84, REFERRING TO THE MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION PROPOSED BILLS TO AMEND THE PAʻIA-HAʻIKU COMMUNITY PLAN AND TO CHANGE THE ZONING (CONDITIONAL ZONING) FOR 40.392 ACRES IN PĀʻIA, HAWAIʻI (EC PĀʻIA TOWN PROJECT)  (HLU-14)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of Resolution 26-84, entitled “REFERRING TO THE MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION A PROPOSED BILL TO AMEND THE PAʻIA-HAʻIKU COMMUNITY PLAN AND A PROPOSED BILL TO CHANGE THE ZONING (CONDITIONAL ZONING) FOR 40.392 ACRES IN PĀʻIA, HAWAIʻI, IDENTIFIED AS PORTIONS OF TAX MAP KEYS (2) 2-5-005:066 AND (2) 2-5-005:067 (EC PĀʻIA TOWN PROJECT).”  Resolution 26-84’s purpose is to refer bills to amend the Paʻia-Haʻiku Community Plan and to conditionally change the zoning, respectively, for five portions of a parcel identified for Real Property Tax purposes as Tax Map Key (2) 2-5-005:066 and a portion of a parcel identified for Real Property Tax purposes as Tax Map Key (2) 2-5-005:067, collectively comprising 40.392 acres, in Pāʻia, Hawaiʻi, for the EC Pāʻia Town project.  The Community Plan Amendment bill would amend the Paʻia-Haʻiku Community Plan from Open Space, Agriculture, and Heavy Industrial to Public/Quasi-Public, Multi-Family, Business/Commercial, and Single-Family, as applicable, for specified portions of the parcels.  The Change in Zoning bill would grant a Change in Zoning from the Agricultural and Interim Districts to the P-1 Public/Quasi-Public, A-1 Apartment, R-1 Residential, B-1 Neighborhood Business, and B-2 Community Business Districts, as applicable, subject to a condition of zoning, for specified portions of the parcels.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 26-84, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-84 and other related action.
