APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS (RESOLUTION 22-86, APPOINTING HELENE KAU AS DIRECTOR OF WATER SUPPLY) (GREAT-1(4))
Description
1. Resolution 22-86 entitled “APPROVING HELENE KAU AS THE DIRECTOR OF WATER SUPPLY.” Resolution 22-86’s purpose is to approve the appointment of Helene Kau as the Director of Water Supply, in accordance with Sections 6-2.5 and 8-11.5 of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended (“Charter”).
2. Correspondence dated April 27, 2022, from the Committee Chair, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “DISAPPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF HELENE KAU AS THE DIRECTOR OF WATER SUPPLY.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to disapprove the appointment of Helene Kau as the Director of Water Supply, in accordance with Charter Sections 6-2.5 and 8-11.5.
Status
The Council must confirm or deny the appointment by May 15, 2022, or the appointment will be deemed confirmed. The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 22-86 approving the appointment or the proposed resolution disapproving the appointment, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider other related action.
