RESOLUTION 25-79, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: KAMALANI T. UEHARA V. COUNTY OF MAUI, DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY, ET AL., CIVIL 2CCV-21-0000378  (GREAT-11(6))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Resolution 25-79, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF KAMALANI T. UEHARA vs. COUNTY OF MAUI, DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY, ET AL.; CIVIL 2CCV-21-0000378.”  Resolution 25-79’s purpose is to approve settlement of the claim, filed on December 10, 2021.  The claim alleges a hostile or sexually hostile work environment; sex discrimination; retaliation; negligent training, retention, and supervision; intentional infliction of emotional distress; negligent infliction of emotional distress; and respondeat superior or vicarious liability relating to incidents that occurred between April 2020 and October 2021, when the claimant was employed with the County.

2.                     Correspondence dated March 10, 2025, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a copy of the Complaint, filed on December 10, 2021.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 25-79, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 25-79 and other related action.

 

Note
