BILL 8 (2025), AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, APPENDIX A, PART II, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND; AND RESOLUTION 25-53, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 104A LOWER WAIEHU BEACH ROAD
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 8 (2025), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, APPENDIX A, PART II, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND.” Bill 8’s purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget, Appendix A, Part II, Special Purpose Revenues - Schedule of Revolving/Special Funds for Fiscal Year 2025, Open Space, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, and Scenic Views Preservation Fund by: 1) deleting condition (3) relating to the acquisition of property located at 131 Shaw Street in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaiʻi for up to $1,300,000; and 2) inserting a new condition (3) for up to $500,000 to be used for the acquisition of property located at 104A Lower Waiehu Beach Road in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaiʻi.
2. Resolution 25-53, entitled “AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 0.41 ACRES IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY NO. (2) 3-3-001:034 SITUATED AT WAILUKU, MAUI, HAWAII, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $480,000.00.” Resolution 25-53’s purpose is to authorize the acquisition of vacant land consisting of 0.41 acres located at 104A Lower Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaiʻi, for $480,000 plus expenses.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 8 (2025) on first reading, with or without revisions, and adoption of Resolution 25-53, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 8 (2025) and Resolution 25-53 and other related action.
