BILL 7 (2025), AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 BUDGET:  OFFICE OF THE MAYOR (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, GRANTS AND DISBURSEMENTS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY; MAUI FAIR)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 7 (2025), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, ESTIMATED REVENUES; OFFICE OF THE MAYOR, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, GRANTS AND DISBURSEMENTS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY; MAUI FAIR.”  Bill 7’s purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget by:  1) amending Section 2, Estimated Revenues, by increasing Carryover/Savings from the General Fund by $1,500,000; 2) amending Section 3.B.12.c.(2), Office of the Mayor, Economic Development Program, Grants and disbursements for business development and technology, by adding a new appropriation entitled “Festivals of Aloha, Inc. for the 2025 Maui County Fair” in the amount of $1,500,000; and 3) adjusting the totals accordingly.

2.                     Correspondence dated January 29, 2025, from the Budget Director, transmitting  a Certification of Additional Revenues for Fiscal Year 2025, dated January 29, 2025, for $1,500,000 in Carryover/Savings from the General Fund.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 7 (2025) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 7 (2025) and other related action.
