RESOLUTION 26-141, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: GERSHOM SLONIM V. COUNTY OF MAUI; UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT CASE 26-CV-00231-DKW-RT (GREAT-11(36))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Resolution 26-141, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF GERSHOM SLONIM V. COUNTY OF MAUI, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT CASE 26-CV-00231-DKW-RT.” Resolution 26-141’s purpose is to approve settlement of Gershom Slonim v. County of Maui, United States District Court Case 26-CV-00231-DKW-RT, filed on May 12, 2026. The claim alleges violations of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994, 38 United States Code Section 4301 et seq., and Section 88-132, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes.
2. Correspondence dated August 14, 2026, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting the proposed resolution and copy of the claim.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 26-141, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-141 and other related action.
