Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 28 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE GRANTING APPROVAL TO ANDREA M. KAIO AS TRUSTEE OF THE ANDREA M, KAIO TRUST, DATED OCTOBER 15, 2023, AND AS TRUSTEE OF THE GLAVIN K. KAIO TRUST, DATED DECEMBER 8, 2023, TO CREATE ADDITIONAL LOTS UNDER SUBSECTION 19.30A.040(F), MAUI COUNTY CODE, ON PROPERTY IN THE AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT, AT 201 HEʻAHEʻA PLACE, WAILUKU, HAWAIʻI, TAX MAP KEY (2) 3-2-008:067.” Bill 28’s purpose is to approve a request by Andrea M. Kaio, as Trustee of specified trusts, to create additional lots for family members on property in the Agricultural District that was previously subdivided into the maximum number of lots permitted under Section 19.30A.030, Maui County Code. The property comprises 12.834 acres at 201 Heʻaheʻa Place, Wailuku, Hawaiʻi.
2. Correspondence dated February 2, 2026, from the Acting Planning Director, transmitting the Department of Planning’s report and recommendations from the Maui Planning Commission and related documents.
3. Correspondence dated March 4, 2026, from the Committee Chair, transmitting the exhibits to the Department of Planning’s report.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 28 (2026) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 28 (2026) and other related action.
