RESOLUTION 26-95, PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT TO ALLOW REAPPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ETHICS FOR ONE SUCCESSIVE TERM (GREAT-10(15))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of Resolution 26-95, entitled “PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 13 OF THE REVISED CHARTER OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI (1983), AS AMENDED, TO ALLOW REAPPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ETHICS FOR ONE SUCCESSIVE TERM.” Resolution 26-95’s purpose is to place on the next General Election ballot the question of whether the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended, should be amended effective January 1, 2027, to authorize the Mayor to reappoint members of the Board of Ethics of the County of Maui, with the approval of the Council, for one successive term without an intervening waiting period.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Resolution 26-95 on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-95 and other related action.
