Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 116 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAIʻI SCHOOL FACILITIES AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY WASTEWATER SERVICE FROM THE WAILUKU/KAHULUI WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY TO THE NEW CENTRAL MAUI SCHOOL.” Bill 116’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Hawaiʻi School Facilities Authority to provide temporary wastewater service from the Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility to the new Central Maui School, under Section 2.20.020, Maui County Code.

2.                     An Amendment Summary Form, dated October 8, 2026, from the Committee Chair, with a proposed CD1 version of Bill 116 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAIʻI SCHOOL FACILITIES AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY WASTEWATER SERVICE FROM THE WAILUKU-KAHULUI WASTEWATER RECLAMATION FACILITY TO THE NEW CENTRAL MAUI SCHOOL.” The proposed CD1 version corrects facility references in the bill’s title and text to “Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility,” consistent with the Memorandum of Understanding.
