BILL 102 (2025) AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2026 BUDGET: APPENDIX A, PART II, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND; AND RESOLUTION 25-53, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 104A LOWER WAIEHU BEACH ROAD, WAILUKU (KA'EHU BAY)) (BFED-46)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 102 (2025), entitled "A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2026 BUDGET, APPENDIX A, PART II, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND, NEW APPROPRIATION FOR $500,000 FOR ACQUISITION OF 104A LOWER WAIEHU BEACH ROAD AND DELETION OF APPROPRIATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF 131 SHAW STREET." Bill 102's purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, Appendix A, Part II, Open Space, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, and Scenic Views Preservation Fund to:
a. Add a new appropriation of $500,000 for the acquisition of tax map key (2) 3-3-001:034 at 104A Lower Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku, Maui, Hawai?i; and
b. Delete a prior year appropriation of $1,300,000 for the acquisition of tax map key (2) 4-6-007:037 at 131 Shaw Street, Lahaina, Maui, Hawai?i.
2. Resolution 25-53, entitled "AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 0.41 ACRES IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY NO. (2) 3-3-001:034 SITUATED AT WAILUKU, MAUI, HAWAII, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $480,000.00." Resolution 25-53's purpose is to authorize the acquisition of vacant land consisting of 0.41 acres located at 104A Lower Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku, Maui, Hawai?i, for $480,000 plus expenses.
3. Correspondence dated February 2, 2026, from the Director of Finance, transmitting a title report dated December 26, 2025, and an appraisal report dated January 6, 2026, for tax map key (2) 3-3-001:034 at 104A Lower Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku, Maui, Hawai?i.
