RESOLUTION 26-81, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: CHARLOTTE MARTIN V. COUNTY OF MAUI, ET AL.; CIVIL 2CCV-24-0000903  (GREAT-11(28))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Resolution 26-81, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF CHARLOTTE MARTIN vs. COUNTY OF MAUI, ET AL.; CIVIL CASE 2CCV-24-0000903”  Resolution 26-81’s purpose is to approve settlement of Charlotte Martin v. County of Maui, et al.; Civil 2CCV-24-0000903, filed on September 26, 2024.  The claim alleges negligence and respondeat superior or vicarious liability against the County arising from an incident between Martin and a motor vehicle driven by Maui Police Department Officer Mitchell Navarro that occurred on February 5, 2023, within the parking lot area of Kepaniwai Park in Wailuku, Hawai‘i.

2.                     Correspondence dated April 23, 2026, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a copy of the claim.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 26-81, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-81 and other related action.

 

Note
