RESOLUTION 24-115, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION 24-46, FD1 TO ADD LOTS TO THE GRANT OF LEASE OF COUNTY REAL PROPERTY TO COUNCIL FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN ADVANCEMENT  (HLU-31)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Resolution 24-115, entitled “AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION 24-46, FD1 TO ADD LOTS TO THE GRANT OF LEASE OF COUNTY REAL PROPERTY TO COUNCIL FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN ADVANCEMENT.”  Resolution 24-115’s purpose is to authorize the Amendment to Grant of Lease of County Real Property to the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement to add an additional nine County-owned lots and extend the lease term to May 31, 2027, to expand the Ke Ao Maluhia project by building an additional 16 temporary housing units in the Fairways at Maui Lani, Kahului, Maui, Hawaiʻi.

2.                     Correspondence dated July 10, 2024, from the Committee Chair to the Acting Director of Finance, requesting clarification about the ownership of residential lots 27-33, 52, and 53 in the Fairways at Maui Lani.

3.                     Correspondence dated July 12, 2024, from the Acting Director of Finance, responding to the Committee Chair’s July 10, 2024 correspondence, clarifying the ownership of residential lots 27-33, 52, and 53 in the Fairways at Maui Lani and attaching an Amended and Restated Donation of County Real Property Agreement.

4.                     An Amendment Summary Form, dated July 26, 2024, from the Committee Chair, with a proposed CD1 version of Resolution 24-115.  The proposed CD1 version incorporates clarifying amendments to the title and text.

 

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 24-115, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 24-115 and other related action.
