BILL 79 (2024), RELATING TO A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR SETTLEMENT OF ALLEGED VIOLATIONS (GREAT-25)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of Bill 79 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR SETTLEMENT OF ALLEGED VIOLATIONS.”  Bill 79’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into a Consent and Final Order with the United States Environmental Protection Agency to resolve alleged violations as described in the ordinance and attached exhibit.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 79 (2024) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 79 (2024) and other related action.

 

Note
