Description
Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to discuss Bill 34 (2026), which would amend the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, Appendix A, Part II, Affordable Housing Fund, by adding a new condition to allow repayment of up to $234,050 to Kamalani Ventures LLC for an overpayment tied to payments required under Section 2.96.090(D)(4), Maui County Code, for units sold at market rate without deed restrictions. Bill 34 passed first reading at the Council’s meeting of February 18, 2026, and remains with the Council for consideration of passage on second and final reading.
