DIGITAL ZONING MAPS  (PC-19)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1. County Communication 18-201, from the Planning Director, transmitting the following:

a.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A DIGITAL ZONING MAP AS THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP FOR THE ISLAND OF MAUI.”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to adopt a digital zoning map, consistent with previously enacted zoning ordinances, for the island of Maui.

b.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 19, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO ZONING DISTRICTS AND MAPS.”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to the list of County zoning districts in the Maui County Code, establish updated County policies on determining boundaries for zoning districts, and comprehensively update the digital zoning map for the island of Maui.

c.                     A copy of the relevant meeting minutes of the Lanai, Molokai, and Maui planning commissions.

2.                      Correspondence dated August 16, 2018, from the Deputy Planning Director, transmitting a presentation on the Digital Zoning Maps project.

 

Status

The Committee may receive a presentation by the Department of Planning and discuss the Digital Zoning Maps project.  The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bills on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-201 and other related action.
