BILL 71 (2024), AMENDING SECTION 19.30A.050, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO THE SIZE OF FARM DWELLINGS IN THE AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT  (HLU-30)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 71 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 19.30A.050, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO THE SIZE OF FARM DWELLINGS IN THE AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT.”  Bill 71’s purpose is to amend Section 19.30A.050, Maui County Code, to expand the allowable size of one of the two farm dwellings per lot in the Agricultural District on Maui and Lānaʻi from 1,000 to 1,500 square feet of developable area.

2.                     Correspondence dated May 9, 2024, from the Committee Chair, transmitting County Communication 37-24, from the Planning Director, with the planning commission’s recommendations on the proposed bill attached to Resolution 23-36, and related documents.

3.                     Correspondence dated May 9, 2024, from Councilmember Paltin, transmitting an Amendment Summary Form relating to Bill 71 (2024).

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 71 (2024) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 71 (2024) and other related action.
