RESOLUTION 26-122, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: BAO NGOC TRAN V. COUNTY OF MAUI; ET AL.; CIVIL 2CCV-24-0000844 (GREAT-11(32))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Resolution 26-122, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF BAO NGOC TRAN vs. COUNTY OF MAUI; ET AL.; CIVIL CASE 2CCV-24-0000844.” Resolution 26-122’s purpose is to approve settlement of Bao Ngoc Tran v. County of Maui, Belen Layne, et al.; Civil 2CCV-24-0000844, filed on August 21, 2024. The claim alleges negligence against the County and its employee arising from a September 19, 2022 incident on Wailea Alanui Drive involving a County vehicle and the Plaintiff on a bicycle.
2. Correspondence dated July 9, 2026, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting the proposed resolution and copy of the complaint.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 26-122, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 26-122 and other related action.
