UPDATE ON EVICTION MEDIATION AND RELATED SOCIAL SERVICES (WASSP-1(15))
Description
Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to receive an update on eviction mediation and related social services.
Status
The Committee may receive comments from Bevanne Bowers, Executive Director, Maui Mediation Services, and Keala Kaopuiki-Santos, Project Manager, Office of Wellness and Resilience, Office of the Governor, State of Hawaiʻi, with an update on Maui Island’s mediation-based process for resolving rent disputes, the State’s eviction mediation pilot project, and related social services for those facing potential eviction. The Committee may also discuss other related matters. No legislative action will be taken.
