OPERATIONAL AND BUDGETARY REVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, EXCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SUSTAINABILITY DIVISION (WAI-1(6))
Description
Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to conduct an operational and budgetary review of the Department of Environmental Management, excluding the Environmental Protection and Sustainability Division.
Status
The Committee may receive a status update from the Department of Environmental Management on its operations and implementation of the Department’s Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, excluding the Environmental Protection and Sustainability Division. Topics may include:
• The status and timeline of the Central Maui Wastewater Reclamation Facility;
• R-1 water production at the Kahului, Molokai, and Lāna‘i Wastewater Treatment Facilities; and
• Expansion of the R-1 distribution system in West and South Maui.
The Committee may also discuss other related matters. No legislative action will be taken.
