DISCUSSION OF BILL 39 (2024), AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET:  REVENUES AND DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT, OFFICE OF RECOVERY (FUNDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS TO PROVIDE INTERIM HOUSING SOLUTIONS TO SURVIVORS OF THE AUGUST 8, 2023, WILDFIRES CURRENTLY IN NON-CONGREGATE SHELTERS)  (BFED-21(17))

 

Description

Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to discuss matters relating to the proposed $8,000,000 appropriation to the Office of Recovery included in Bill 39 (2024), to purchase approximately fifty accessory dwelling units to provide interim housing to survivors of the August 8, 2023, wildfires who are currently in non-congregate shelters.  The Committee may also discuss other matters relating to Bill 39.  Bill 39 passed first reading at the Council’s meeting of February 16, 2024, and remains with the Council for consideration of passage on second and final reading.

 

Status

The Committee may discuss matters relating to the proposed funding to purchase or grant funding for approximately fifty accessory dwelling units to provide interim housing to survivors of the August 8, 2023, wildfires currently in non-congregate shelters and other matters included in Bill 39 (2024).  No legislative action will be taken.
