Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 51 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.” Bill 51’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the County of Maui’s Department of Police and the Department of Health, State of Hawai‘i, to provide access to data from reports related to violent deaths occurring in Maui County.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 51 (2024) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 51 (2024) and other related action.
