Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Correspondence dated September 20, 2021, from Councilmember Tamara Paltin, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled "APPROVING FOR INCLUSION IN THE 2022 HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES LEGISLATIVE PACKAGE A STATE BILL TO LOWER THE SIZE THRESHOLD FOR HOMES THAT ARE CONSIDERED A "DEVELOPMENT" UNDER THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ACT." The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve for inclusion in the 2022 Hawaii State Association of Counties Legislative Package a proposed State bill, attached as Exhibit "A," entitled "A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ACT." The purpose of the proposed State bill is to amend Section 205A-22, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to amend the definition of "development" by lowering the size threshold for a single-family residence to 5,000 square feet under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
2. Correspondence dated September 20, 2021, from Councilmember Kelly Takaya King, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled "APPROVING FOR INCLUSION IN THE 2022 HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES LEGISLATIVE PACKAGE A STATE BILL RELATING TO THE USE OF INTOXICANTS WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE." The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve for inclusion in the 2022 Hawaii State Association of Counties Legislative Package a proposed State bill, attached as Exhibit "A," entitled "A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE USE OF INTOXICANTS WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE." The purpose of the proposed State bill is to amend Section 291E-3, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to lower the threshold of blood-alcohol content for the offense of operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
