RESOLUTION 25-192, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: AISSA NISHIYAMA V. COUNTY OF MAUI POLICE DEPARTMENT, ET AL., CIVIL 2CCV-23-0000346 (GREAT-11(21))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Resolution 25-192, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF AISSA NISHIYAMA V. COUNTY OF MAUI POLICE DEPARTMENT, ET AL., CIVIL 2CCV-23-0000346.” Resolution 25-192’s purpose is to approve settlement of Aissa Nishiyama v. County of Maui Police Department, et al., Civil 2CCV-23-0000346, filed on October 30, 2023. The claim alleges unlawful employment discrimination and retaliation between October 18, 2021, and July 15, 2023.
2. Correspondence dated October 9, 2025, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a copy of the claim.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 25-192, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 25-192 and other related action.
