Title

APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS (RESOLUTION 24-83, RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF MARIA ZIELINSKI AS DIRECTOR OF FINANCE)  (GREAT-1(5))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of Resolution 24-83, entitled “APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF MARIA ZIELINSKI AS THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE.”  Resolution 24-84’s purpose is to approve the appointment of Maria Zielinski as the Director or Finance, under Sections 6-2(5) and 8-4.2 of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended.

 

Status

The Council must approve or disapprove the appointment by June 10, 2024, or the appointment will be deemed approved.  The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 24-83 to approve the appointment, with or without revisions.   The Committee may also consider whether to revise Resolution 24-83 to disapprove the appointment, and other related action.

 

Note

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated in accordance with Section 92-5(a)(2), Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes, to consider the hire, evaluation, dismissal, or discipline of officers or employees; and Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee.
