RESOLUTION 25-214, SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: THE ESTATE OF MATTHEW LOUIS PERREIRA, DECEASED, ET AL. VS. PATRICK GEORGE VENTURA; COUNTY OF MAUI; STATE OF HAWAIʻI; ALEXANDER & BALDWIN, LLC; CIVIL 2CCV-22-0000045  (GREAT-11(24))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Resolution 25-214, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF THE ESTATE OF MATTHEW LOUIS PERREIRA, DECEASED, ET AL. VS. PATRICK GEORGE VENTURA; COUNTY OF MAUI; STATE OF HAWAIʻI; ALEXANDER & BALDWIN, LLC; CIVIL 2CCV-22-0000045.”  Resolution 25-214’s purpose is to approve settlement of The Estate of Matthew Louis Perreira, Deceased, et al. vs. County of Maui, et al.; Civil 2CCV-22-0000045, filed on June 13, 2023.  The claim alleges wrongful death and damages from a motor vehicle versus motorcycle collision that occurred at the intersection of Dairy Road and Hukilike Street in Kahului, Hawaiʻi on December 13, 2020.

2.                     Correspondence dated November 17, 2025, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a copy of the claim.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 25-214, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 25-214 and other related action.

 

Note
