PURCHASE OF LAND LOCATED AT HONOKOWAI RESERVOIR, LAHAINA, MAUI (EDB-116)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-576, from the Director of Environmental Management, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LAND LOCATED AT HONOKOWAI RESERVOIR, ISLAND AND COUNTY OF MAUI, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 3.44, MAUI COUNTY CODE.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to authorize the County to acquire approximately 5.1 acres, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map key (2) 4-4-002:019, located at Honokowai, Lahaina, Maui, from Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. for $599,999, plus customary expenses. The property will be used for elevated storage of recycled water, necessary for the expansion and pressurization of the recycled water system in West Maui.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions. No legislative action will be taken.
