Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 17-392, from Councilmember Riki Hokama, relating to an independent audit of the Director of Finance’s accounts, pursuant to Section 9-13 of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended.
2. County Communication 17-393, from Council Chair Mike White, transmitting a proposed resolution to authorize the Council Chair to contract for an independent audit of the Director of Finance’s accounts.
3. Correspondence dated March 8, 2018, from Council Chair Mike White, transmitting a document, entitled “REPORT TO THE COUNTY OF MAUI OFFICE OF COUNCIL SERVICES AUDIT OF THE FORMER DIRECTOR OF FINANCE’S ACCOUNTS PURSUANT TO SECTION 9-13 OF THE REVISED CHARTER OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI,” prepared by N&K CPAs, Inc.
Status
The Committee may review the report. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communications 17-392 and 17-393 and other related action.

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated pursuant to Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawaii Revised Statutes, to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee.
