CLIMATE CHANGE LITIGATION (CARE-1(5))
Description
Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to receive a presentation and discuss matters relating to climate change litigation as it relates to climate change and protecting the natural environment.
Status
The Committee may receive a presentation from the Department of the Corporation Counsel; discuss Maui County’s lawsuit against fossil fuel companies; similar cases of climate change litigation filed by other governmental entities around the country; and other related matters. No legislative action will be taken.
