AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET: EMERGENCY FUND (BF-105)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Miscellaneous Communication dated October 12, 2016, from the County Clerk, referring County Communication 16-223 and related documents associated with the County of Maui September 2016 Flood event and costs.
2. County Communication 17-44, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill to amend Appendix A, Part II, of the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget by increasing the proviso amount for County costs related to the September 2016 flooding event by $838,000 under the Emergency Fund (Section 9-14, Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended; Chapter 3.96, Maui County Code).
3. Correspondence dated January 23 2017, from the Budget Director, transmitting a revised proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO PART II, SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF REVOLVING/SPECIAL FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017, EMERGENCY FUND.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part II, of the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget by increasing the proviso amount for County costs related to the September 2016 flooding event by $910,327 under the Emergency Fund (Section 9-14, Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended; Chapter 3.96, Maui County Code).
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the revised proposed bill on first reading, with or without further revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Miscellaneous Communication dated October 12, 2016, County Communication 17-44, and other related action.
