Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 16 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.52, MAUI COUNTY CODE, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION REGULATING LOW-SPEED ELECTRIC BICYCLES.” Bill 16’s purpose is to establish regulations for the safe operation of low-speed electric bicycles, with particular focus on protecting minors and promoting responsible use.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 16 (2026) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 16 (2026) and other related action.
