BILL 73 (2023), RELATING TO AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ON PROCEEDS RELATING TO THE SETTLEMENT OF OPIOID LITIGATION  (GREAT-13)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of Bill 73 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ON PROCEEDS RELATING TO THE SETTLEMENT OF OPIOID LITIGATION.”  Bill 73’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the State of Hawai‘i and local governments on proceeds relating to the settlement of opioid litigation as  described in Exhibits “1” and “2.”

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 73 (2023) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 73 (2023) and other related action.
