AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS (CHAPTER 201H, HAWAII REVISED STATUTES) (KAIWAHINE VILLAGE PROJECT, KIHEI) (LU-2(3))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of correspondence dated January 25, 2018, from the Director of Housing and Human Concerns, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “APPROVING A VARIATION FROM THE APPROVED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE KAIWAHINE VILLAGE 201H PROJECT TO ALLOW FOR TWO AND THREE BEDROOM RENTAL UNITS.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve variations to the plans and specifications approved by Resolution 11-23, as amended by Resolution 16-32, to allow for the 120 residential workforce units in the Kaiwahine Village 201H project to be rental units, and for all 120 units in the project to be two- and three-bedroom units to be rented to households earning 60 percent or less of the area median income.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions. The Committee may also review the project timeline and deadlines set forth by Resolution 16-32. The Committee may also consider the filing of the correspondence and other related action.
