BILL 1 (2024), AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY (US ARMY) REGARDING A DESIGN AGREEMENT FOR THE IAO STREAM, MAUI, HAWAII - FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT (WAI-18)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 1 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY (US ARMY) REGARDING A DESIGN AGREEMENT FOR THE IAO STREAM, MAUI, HAWAII - FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT.” Bill 1’s purpose is to enter into an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement with the U.S. Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, to complete the design for the Iao Stream Flood Control Project.
2. An Amendment Summary Form dated January 19, 2024, from Committee Chair Cook with a proposed CD1 version of Bill 1 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY (US ARMY) REGARDING A DESIGN AGREEMENT FOR THE IAO STREAM, MAUI, HAWAII - FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT PROJECT.” The proposed CD1 version amends the bill’s title and incorporates nonsubstantive revisions.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed CD1 version of Bill 1 (2024) on first reading, with or without further revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 1 (2024) and other related action.
