BILL 9 (2024), AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION (KIHEI COMMUNITY CENTER IMPROVEMENTS) (BFED-73)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Bill 9 (2024), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, REVENUES; CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, KĪHEI-MAKENA COMMUNITY PLAN AREA; AND APPENDIX C, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, KĪHEI-MAKENA COMMUNITY PLAN AREA.” Bill 9’s purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget by 1) amending Section 2, Estimated Revenues, by increasing Carryover/Savings from the General Fund by $800,000; 2) amending Section 4.D.3., Department of Parks and Recreation, Kīhei-Makena Community Plan Area, by adding “a. Parks and Recreation” before “(1) General Fund” and adding a new appropriation under General Fund entitled “Kīhei Community Center Improvements” in the amount of $800,000; 3) adjusting the totals accordingly; and 4) amending Appendix C - Capital Improvement Projects, Department of Parks and Recreation, Kīhei-Makena Community Plan Area by adding a new project and project description entitled “Kīhei Community Center Improvements” in the amount of $800,000.
2. A Certification of Additional Revenues for Fiscal Year 2024, dated January 5, 2024, for $800,000 in Carryover/Savings from the General Fund.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 9 (2024) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 9 (2024) and other related action.
