CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS ON MAUI COUNTY (ADEPT-1(10))
Description
Under Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to receive presentations and discuss climate change impacts on Maui County.
Status
The Committee may receive the following presentations:
1) “Climate Change Impacts in Hawai‘i” by Dr. Charles “Chip” Fletcher, Dean, School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa;
2) “How Changing Climate Conditions Are Affecting the People, Nature, and Infrastructure of Maui County” by Tonya Graham, Executive Director, Geos Institute, and Darla Palmer-Ellingson, Chief Executive Officer, 360 Green Living; and
3) “Hawaiʻi’s Climate Action Pathways - Maui County Sustaining Progress” by Jennifer VanderVeur, Grants Specialist, Hawaiʻi Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission.
The Committee may also discuss matters relating to the Maui County Climate Action & Resiliency Plan, climate change impacts on Maui County, and other related matters. No legislative action will be taken.
