LAND USE ENTITLEMENTS FOR SEABURY HALL (MAKAWAO) (LU-34)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 16-296, from Council Chair Mike White, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “REFERRING TO THE MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION PROPOSED BILLS TO AMEND THE STATE LAND USE DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION, ENACT A COMMUNITY PLAN AMENDMENT, AND CHANGE THE ZONING FOR 14.950 ACRES AT 305 MEHA ROAD (PORTION) and 480 OLINDA ROAD, MAKAWAO, HAWAII.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to refer to the Maui Planning Commission the following:
1. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE STATE LAND USE DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION FROM AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT TO URBAN DISTRICT FOR 14.950 ACRES AT 305 MEHA ROAD (PORTION) AND 480 OLINDA ROAD, MAKAWAO, HAWAII.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to grant a State Land Use District Boundary Amendment from Agricultural District to Urban District for those certain parcels of land situated at 305 Meha Road (portion) and 480 Olinda Road, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map keys (2) 2-4-008:001 (portion) and (2) 2-4-008:041, respectively, in Makawao, Hawaii, comprising 14.950 acres (“subject property”).
2. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MAKAWAO-PUKALANI-KULA COMMUNITY PLAN AND LAND USE MAP FROM AGRICULTURAL TO PUBLIC/QUASI-PUBLIC FOR 14.950 ACRES AT 305 MEHA ROAD (PORTION) AND 480 OLINDA ROAD, MAKAWAO, HAWAII.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to grant a Community Plan Amendment from Agricultural to Public/Quasi-Public for the subject property.
3. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE ZONING FROM AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT TO P-1 PUBLIC/QUASI-PUBLIC DISTRICT FOR 14.950 ACRES AT 305 MEHA ROAD (PORTION) AND 480 OLINDA ROAD, MAKAWAO, HAWAII.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to grant a Change in Zoning from Agricultural District to P-1 Public/Quasi-Public District for the subject property.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 16-296 and other related action.
