AMENDMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET TO AUTHORIZE TRANSFERS RELATING TO CATEGORIES OF USE BUT WITHIN A PROGRAM OR DEPARTMENT (DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS) (BF-121(6))

Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Correspondence dated November 7, 2016, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed resolution to transfer funds from one category of use to another, within the Department of Public Works, to fund needed equipment, professional services, and training for the respective programs. The proposed amendment would allow for expenditures in the proper category of use.
2. Correspondence dated November 16, 2016, from the Budget Director, transmitting a revised proposed resolution entitled "AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF AN UNENCUMBERED APPROPRIATION BALANCE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, FISCAL YEAR 2017 BUDGET." The purpose of the revised proposed resolution is to amend the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget within the Department of Public Works by transferring: 1) $283,700 from the Special Maintenance Program - General Fund, Category B (Operations) to Category C (Equipment); 2) $30,600 from the Traffic Management Program - Highway Fund, Category B (Operations) to the Highway Administration Program - Highway Fund, General, Category B (Operations); 3) $41,000 from the Traffic Management Program - Highway Fund, Category B (Operations) to the Road, Bridge, and Drainage Maintenance Program - Highway Fund, Category B (Operations); 4) $62,000 from the Traffic Management Program - Highway Fund, Category B (Operations) to the Road, Bridge, and Drainage Maintenance Program - Highway Fund, Category C (Equipment); and 5) $134,000 from the Traffic Management Program - Highway Fund, Category B (Operations) to the Traffic Management Program - Highway Fund, Category C (Equipment). The funds will be used for equipment, professional services, and training for the respective programs.
